Ruth Vachon - The Impressive Growth of Women’s Entrepreneurship

Female entrepreneurship has made an impressive place for itself in Quebec’s entrepreneurial landscape over the past 10 years. According to a study conducted by ‘La Fondation de l’entrepreneurship’ (The Entrepreneurship Foundation), in 2019, women were 3 times more likely than men to undertake new entrepreneurial initiatives!

This impressive evolution can be explained by several factors, but it goes without saying that the appearance and rise of successful businesswomen like Danièle Henkel and Christine Germain from the widely popular Dragon’s Den has certainly helped.

Now, there is yet another great woman to give credit to. Ruth Vachon, President of the ‘Réseau des femmes d’affaires du Québec’ (Quebec’s Businesswomen’s Network) since 2010, has introduced a number of initiatives in the last 10 years in order to teach women who have the intention to undertake entrepreneurial initiatives how to get started, and help them succeed.

To my great pleasure, Ms. Vachon agreed to come and discuss women's entrepreneurship with us today.

Without further ado, here is my discussion with Ruth Vachon.
